Craftsmanship and Labor

Dear Moda Lovers

Unfortunately I was no match to Chairman Mao’s Firewall system, so I couldn’t really blog, tweet, or use Facebook to keep you posted of ModaRevise’s wonderful progress.

That being said, here are some photos documenting the leather used for our next collection, Victoria. This cow leather features custom designed floral pattern in laser cutout, and  finished with hand painted shimmering gold dusts. The leather is specially treated to make sure that the gold dusts don’t rub off.

As you can see, each piece takes about 4 people working simultaneously to be painted…it was labor intensive and time-consuming, not to mention there goes my warm reception next time around in China.

It takes 4 people around the clock to finish one piece of leather!

One stroke at a time, the gold dusts are hand painted with traditional Chinese calligraphy brush

Close-up!

Almost done.

Finished! Now let's kill Stella!

Stay tune for design concept and sample photos of Victoria Collection. What was the inspiration behind this collection that so tortured the many souls working as my leather vendor.

Ciao Bellas!
